You don't usually think to wear sun screen in Alaska, but at the all-day KBBI Concert on the Lawn, the sun shone down on us with unusual intensity, and by the end of the day, I was as pink as the shirt I was wearing!
Besides my tender skin, I had a great day selling hoops and playing around at the concert! Excitement about hooping is starting to build in my little town at The End of the Road, and I am happy to be the catalyst and ambassador for this great sport/excercise/dance form.

Hey there! Congrats on the hooping biz! I'm sure it will do well for you! Its nice to see someone in AK getting into the hooping biz! & giving HoopGirl a run for her money! haha. I am pretty new to hooping (I got hooked at the Girdwood Forest Fair-go figure!). I live in Anchorage & I'm having a really hard time finding hoopers there. Got any contacts or info you can pass my way? PLEEZE! Im really just looking for hoop buddies, or playdates. or any groups, or anything in Anchorage. Any info you can pass on would be greatly appriciated!
Happy Hooping!
Megan
Hey Megan,
Thanks for writing! I'm selling my hoops in Anchorage, but I don't actually know anyone who has bought one, or is hooping up there, yet. It isn't hard to start a hoop group - just pick a time and a place, and make a really great poster. That's one thing I've done in Homer to build a community.
I'm going to be hooping in The Look's Halloween Fashion Show, and have been thinking about teaching a little hooping workshop up there. Maybe you'd like to help me organize it, and we could jumpstart a hooping community!
Megan,
I've just recently found
http://tribes.tribe.net/alaskahooping
a great place to connect with other hoopers in alaska, and especially in Anchorage!
Check it out.
